FAQ

When is the best time for a maternity shoot?

It all depends on how 'big' you would like to show in your photos. Some want to do it early in their pregnancy, others want to wait the full term. Ideally, no later than 36 weeks, as mobility and safety become challenging.

When is the best time for a newborn shoot?

It depends on your (and baby's) health. I usually catch up with you once the baby is born and then again when you are released from the hospital. Once we have the all clear, I do like to do the newborn shoot asap after birth. Ideally, within 5 to 10 days after birth.

How do we book our session with you?
  • Choose a Shoot duration or Combo/Special offer
  • E-mail/WhatsApp me for availability for your preferred shooting date and time.
  • Once the date & time is determined, I will make a pencilled-in booking for you.
  • I will forward the invoice/banking details to you to pay the ENTIRE fee upfront.
  • The invoice is valid for 24 hours, and the fee is non-refundable.
  • Pay the booking fee to secure your slot and send me the proof of payment.
  • After the booking fee is reflected in my bank account, I will forward your confirmation and all the necessary info such as location pin and shoot guidelines.
Where is your Studio situated?

The studio is in Durbanville Hills, close to the Rose Garden. You will receive the address once your payment reflects in my bank account. This is for safety reasons.

How does the payment work?
  • I work on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you do not pay your booking fee within 24 hours, you will forfeit your time slot.
  • Cancellations 24 hours in advance, please. NO REFUNDS!
  • The fee is non-refundable, regardless of the reason for the cancellation.
  • You may postpone the shoot only once due to serious illness. I only have a few slots available for photoshoots, so if you postpone, I lose my income for that slot.
  • No booking fee … no booking.
  • Once your shoot is confirmed you will receive the location and a shoot guideline. Please try to follow this closely to ensure the best possible shoot!
Do you travel for photoshoots?

Yes I do! For on location photoshoots, 30km is included in my standard pricing. Therafter, it is R6.50 p/km. For a newborn photoshoot at home, it is a flat fee of R750.

Do you use the photos for social media and marketing materials?

I do use the photos for social media and marketing, yes. But if you prefer me not to, then no problem at all - please do make sure to communicate this to me before the shoot.

What days and times are the studio open?

The studio is available for shoots from Monday to Saturday, 09h00 – 13h00, but if you have a different time slot in mind, please contact me to discuss. I'm more than flexible to suit your needs.

I'm very shy and awkward, will you help me with posing?

YES, of course! My studio is in my home and very intimate. It's just you, (your chosen) people, and me. For this reason, we bond, chat and share mom-moments with a laugh and a tear. My goal is always to make you as comfortable and naturally beautiful as possible.

Can I bring my family with for the newborn shoot?

My studio is designed to be small and intimate; I can accommodate up to 6 people. Please do note that I ask the 'extra' family to wait outside so that it's just mommy and me for the remainder of the newborn shoot. This makes the baby calmer, and we get those beautiful, sleepy photos.

Can I bring the baby's siblings with?

Yes absolutely! I usually do a few photos as a family, parents and also with the siblings. After that, I do ask dad (or whoever), to please look after the siblings so that it's just me and mom for those sleepy, newborn photos.

Do you have maternity dresses and fabrics?

Yes, I do have a collection of dresses and fabrics. The cost to use these and all my props (flower crowns) etc... are all included in my photoshoot pricing.

Do you provide the newborn props and wraps, or must i?

I do have loads of wraps, fillers and a few newborn props. I do however encourage you to bring whatever you want to use with - the scan, bootsies, name etc. As for outfits, I do have a few, but if you want to bring your own outfit, please feel free to do so.

What must I bring with for the maternity shoot?

For the maternity shoot, please bring any props you would like to use - scan, Ouma's knitted bootsies, a cute babygrow, the name etc...

What is the best time to do an on location shoot?

On-location shoots are a bit tricky with the weather and the location. If it's in the forest or the city centre, then midday is better. If it's in open spaces like the beach, the hour(s) just before sunset are best.

I want a very specific look and feel for my photos, can I send you reference pics?

Yes, by all means! I would love to see what you have in mind. I can, of course, not 100% guarantee that we will get the same photos, but I do try to replicate the look and feel you want.
